IAHPEDS held a virtual roundtable discussion on November 11, 2023. Anyone from around the world could participate without having to travel. Presenters from as far away as Asia were accommodated with favorable presentation times.
There were Zoom meeting rooms for each of our four disciplines (Health, PE, Dance and Sport). The rooms consisted of 20-minute roundtable discussions or presentations, including topics about research findings, pedagogy, or curriculum issues.

IAHPEDS held our first IAHPEDS Summit in conjunction with the U.S. National Academy of Health and Physical Literacy (NAHPL) at the Newport Marriott Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island, on Tuesday, March 7, from 8 AM- 3 PM EST.

The event included pre-conference sessions on July 6th, presentations, workshops, symposia on July 7-9, keynote speeches in each subject area, and special events, including a dance concert featuring regional Texas dance forms and an optional San Antonio Riverwalk Excursion.
Scholarly, practical and student oral presentations, roundtable discussions, and specific content symposia and workshops were all welcome. Oral presentations lasted 20 minutes (including questions from the audience). Symposia (panel discussions) and workshops were scheduled for 60 minutes. We had roundtable discussion presentations for 20 minutes and student roundtable research presentations. This format provided for a more interactive, less formal presentation approach.

Stephen Silverman, dean and professor of the College of Education at Florida Atlantic University, has made well over 250 presentations to international, national, and regional groups and has published over 150 chapters and papers, including more than 95 refereed research articles.
Sally Jacques, the founder of Blue Lapis Light, creates site-specific aerial dance works that speak to social, political and spiritual dilemmas. Her work has been cited in publications around the globe, and her performances have been featured on PBS.
Kristi Sweeney, a tenured associate professor and Program Director of the Sport Management degree program at the University of North Florida, is a nationally known speaker, scholar and academician on Sport Finance.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, IAHPEDS held virtual roundtable discussions to keep our members professionally active and engaged. Anyone from around the world could participate without having to travel. The first virtual roundtable was held on Saturday, November 14, 2020, from 9:00 AM (EDT) – 4:00 PM. Presenters from as far away as Asia were accommodated with favorable presentation times.
